4 Ways To Increase Your Faith

“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1 NIV).

Our faith can be tried in many ways, but God will never call us to do anything without offering us His promise of His presence. When these barriers to our faith arise we are not without hope. We can take action to defend our faith with these four effective weapons for faith.

First, we must listen. God’s Word allows us to understand what God is speaking to us concerning who He is, and how He works. Trusting what He says instills faith. It is not enough though, that we read and learn from His Word. We must follow His instructions. We must obey what He tells us to do.

Take a leap of faith. When God speaks to you, be ready to jump. Do not wait until all your conditions are met, or all has been answered for you.

Allow God to drive. Do you want to get where you’re going? God assumes full responsibility for your life when you surrender to His service. Sit down, be quiet and leave the driving to Him. He already knows the way.

Be watchful. Keep your eyes peeled for the evidence of His presence, His power, and His reward for your obedience. God wants you to see that He keeps His promises.

Spiritual freedom comes from barriers to faith being torn down. When we take control of our unbelief, and support our reason for acquiring faith with the faith-promises of God we will have that increased measure of faith that will defend our health, our homes, our families and our lives.
