The other day, as I drove to Livingston, Texas on an errand, I was on FM 3278 near the Livingston Dam. The winds were really kicking-up and the lake was covered in whitecaps. Evidently, it was a perfect day for our local eagles to soar and search high above the troubled waters for food for their young;  who must have been patiently waiting in their nests. As I was driving, I saw  one of these most beautiful birds swoop before me; its white tail, dark brown body and brilliant white head and golden beak was unmistakably one of our national birds; a bald eagle. I was reminded of the Scripture in Isaiah 40:31 that declares; “But they who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on the wings of eagles;  they will not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

God does not grow weary, nor does his understanding of what we may be going through keep Him from empowering us with His strength,  and His wisdom, to enable us to cope and come through our stormy times in life. He gives strength to the weary, and increases our power to deal with life when we grow weary. What an awesome image this magnificent eagle is of God’s promise to lift us up on His wings when we need Him!

In God we trust, let us walk and not be faint.
