His Savior-heart is Full of Mercy

Jesus bore our sicknesses as an integral part of our redemption. In His ministry, He healed the sick so “that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah.” And, since His Savior-heart is full of mercy and love and He never changes we believe with all certainty it is His will even to this day that we all be healed. The evangelist Matthew was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write; “Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sickness.” (Matthew 8:17)

Jesus took our infirmities and sickness upon Himself at the cross. This was all part of His redemptive work, and if He hadn’t one important part of His work would have remained powerless and fruitless. God intended for our bodies and our souls to be in co-habitation with Him. At the cross, Jesus fulfilled God’s intention for us. Our sickly bodies and souls are the consequence of sin. This is what Jesus came to conquer for us, to atone for us. It is said, ninety percent of Jesus’ ministry involved healing although He didn’t come to just cure the sick, but to be the Mediator who bore our sicknesses. Reading (Matthew 9:35) “And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in the synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.” It doesn’t say “some” but, every sickness and every disease!

Thank you Jesus that by Your Savior-heart being filled with mercy and love for us we (are) healed even today!
