Letting Go Envy

We see throughout the Bible God desires us to seek His blessings rather than those of the world. He wants us to trust Him, and He wants to enable us in whatever our circumstances. When we aren’t contented envy rears its ugly head and corrupts our minds. The apostle Paul shared this key regarding envy: gratitude. “I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:11-13).

When we are not content with who we are or what we have envy sets a path to destruction. Envy begets anger, resentment, bitterness, fear, and a decrease in faith just to mention a few of the weapons of choice Satan will use to separate us from God. The tenth commandment from God is; “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

Just as we pray for those who are sick or who are suffering, we also pray for those who aren’t but will be if their faith in God’s will for them isn’t brought into alignment with Him. Envy, and the curses that are associated with it, can be cast out in the name of Jesus.

And so, if envy has any root in your life, I hope you will pray this simple prayer with me. God will take it away from you and give you His peace and the contentment you need. It is written in Matthew 6:8 “For the Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.”

Let us pray: “Jesus, help me to remove any trace of envy or coveting I may have. I am sorry for allowing the sin of envy to enter my mind. I pray You will forgive me, and I ask You, Jesus, to remove any and all envy from me. Align my mind with the Father’s! I pray this in Your mighty name. Amen.”

I believe praying this prayer of faith has healed you, and has now set you free! May God continue to bless you!
