Found Forgiven…Not Guilty

We try to do good, but we fail; we try not to do evil, but we fail. Our failure is sin and our sin results in us feeling guilty. Just because we are Christians doesn’t mean we don’t break God’s law. We do. And, when we do the Holy Spirit is right there inside us making us aware of our sin. So, sin results in guilt. We can get rid of our guilty feelings by asking God to forgive us and then repent of that sin. He is our God who forgives us of all sin!

To be able to experience our release from guilt we must have a personal relationship with God having accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We are to ask Jesus to forgive us. When we have forgiveness from Christ, we are declared innocent not guilty! Dealing with guilt can be a daily battle and is best fought with the full armor of God, and His spiritual truth. We discover His spiritual truth by reading His Word.

I am speaking of good and evil, and confession and repentance through Christ because continual feelings of guilt can affect our health in very serious ways! Feelings of guilt can cause very damaging feelings of self-rejection, self-bitterness, and self-hatred. I believe these are serious mental conditions which can impair your health in very significant ways. No one need suffer though because God offers us His saving grace-His healing. You can renew your mind through God’s Word and seek fellowship with other believers. You can refuse to accept any of Satan’s lies or the words of anyone else that continue to tell you that you are guilty. When you find you have not met the expectations of others, remember what the apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:9: “And the Lord said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

When we fail Christ is right here to lift us up. He forgives us. Christ is our healer!
