Good News

Christ died for us while we were yet sinners

Hear the good news! We have the love of our God even though there is nothing we have done, or could ever do to earn His love. He simply loves us because He created us as His own, and we are all in His exact image. We are His children, and He is our heavenly Father. We can even call Him “daddy” or Abba. Our Father is never far away, He is always here with us, to watch over us, and to direct our little footsteps. We are blessed by Him every day of our lives even though we may not be aware of His constant, reassuring hand upon our shoulders.

When I was a child my earthly father was always busy just trying to earn a living for his family. He got home late many times and worked on Saturdays a lot to earn enough money to keep my mom, my little brother and me in a nice home, with food on the table, and clothes on our back. I appreciate all he did for us. He was a good father and a good man. I don’t feel like I knew him very well though. He was gone a lot. There were too many times I wanted to go fishing with him, get him to go to the YMCA on Saturdays with me and just do a lot of things some dads do with their sons. I wish it could have been different. He’s gone now. We never got to talk about much about his hopes and dreams or mine. I wish we could have. I loved my dad.

Our heavenly Father is never too busy to listen to our hopes, our dreams or our fears. He never leaves our side even when we disobey Him and disappoint Him. I know He is always right here ready to love me. He is here for you too! He loves us so much He caused His Son Jesus to die for us, to save us and to take away all our sicknesses (Psalm 103:3). He made a promise to us to never leave us or desert us.

How long has it been since you’ve gone into to Him (in prayer) and asked; “Daddy, I need to talk to You about something that’s really bothering me…can I talk to You? And, Daddy, will you just hold me? You see, I am scared, and I don’t know what I’m going to do about this situation of mine!”

Don’t be afraid to act like a child. These are the times when you can. You see Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3).

So again I say, “Hear the good news!” Christ has come. He has made it possible for you and me to go directly to our heavenly Father! Behold! Your Abba is here…He is listening for your voice. Go and speak to Him, now is your time!

“A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, / and good news gives health to the bones” (Proverbs 15:30).
